BARONITE
Materials Engineering Consulting
Solving problems one element at a time.
Orit received her bachelors of engineering BSE and masters of engineering MSE from University of Michigan and Northwestern University, respectively. Both schools at time of acceptance were rated top 5 in the United States for Materials Engineering.
After graduation Orit spent the next ~20 years at a global automotive Japanese brake supplier, ascending from being an engineer, to establishing a materials group, and then managing that group. She was responsible for selecting materials for brake components such as rubber, paints, platings, phenolic, steel, ductile iron, gray iron, stainless steel, etc. She was also responsible for substance of concern reporting using various software packages such as various OEM proprietary software and more recently IMDS (International Material Data System) and CAMDS (China IMDS). Initially Orit worked first-hand on these projects and eventually managed a group that worked on these tasks, along with fracture analysis.
Eventually Orit started a consulting company and continues to perform similar tasks as outlined above.
Our Services
Material Selection
Spot on material and coating selection based on mechanical, thermal and environmental requirements. Typically cost is also a consideration. Customer is surveyed to understand the component's environment and requirements before Baronite makes a recommendation.
Material selection for metals, finishes and polymers with output call-outs in various national standards such as ASTM, SAE, ISO and JIS.
Environmental Reporting
Substance of concern reporting for components, assemblies and materials. Accurate reporting from materials engineers who understand global material standards and substance of concern regulations. In short, Environmental reporting from Baronite is not simple data input, but consultation also includes study of relevant customer and global restrictions.
Substance of concern reporting is generally completed with the common International Material Data System (IMDS) or China Automotive Material Data System. Baronite has also worked with proprietary customer software but that is less common.
Training
On-site training for substance of concern reporting. The training is customized for your company's product line. Training will teach your team how to use the required data entry software for your customers. In addition to teaching software usage and data entry, the training if desired will also include teaching your team about compliance of the product line to various customer and global environmental standards. The most common software for the automotive market is International Material Data System (IMDS). Baronite also has experience with China Material Data System (CAMDS) and proprietary software packages.
Baronite's Core Principles:
Boost Product Performance
Reduce cost
Meet all deadlines
Emphasis on Social Responsibility
Make it fun!
